Natalie Portman turns 35 today, and in honor of her birthday let’s dig into some fun facts about the incredible actor’s life!
1. You Drive Me Crazy
As a young girl, Portman was an understudy for the lead character in the off-Broadway show, “Ruthless,” alongside Britney Spears. Portman and Spears became friends and still keep in touch. They even threw a new years eve party together in New York back in 2002.
Natalie Portman actually had her mind set on becoming a psychologist and even did a degree in the subject at Harvard. To this day, she still aspires to practice psychology someday!
3. A Lust For Language
Psychology is not the only area where Portman shows her smarts. She can speak Hebrew and English fluently and also knows some conversational French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
4. A Right Song And Dance
Before she was an acclaimed actor, Portman a member of the environmental song and dance troupe The World Patrol Kids under her real name, Natalie Hershlag. Please let those videos exist somewhere!

While she has starred in a wide variety of genres, Portman has insisted that she would never take part in a horror movie.

Natalie Portman has taken dance lessons since she was four years, which her spread her wings as the iconic Black Swan.

Although it’s often voted as one of the sexiest movie scenes of all time, Portman said getting it on with Mila Kunis was totally awks, she explained:
“It was awkward and we laughed. It was strange, but it’s something you just sort of throw yourself into.”
8. Mom’s The Word
Portman is mom to 4-year-old Aleph but she would love to have more children, she told Hollywood Reporter:
“I’d be thrilled if I was lucky enough to have more,”
9. Making Being An Outsider An Art
Despite all of her success and popularity, Portman says she still feels like an outsider at heart, she explained:
” I like being a stranger in a place, You’re kind of an outsider, and I think that’s what makes you. It’s the only way I’ve ever known.”
