There’s great news today for all of us unfortunate Muggles who missed out on initial release of tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – 250,000 more tickets are going on sale Thursday, August 4!
The play is currently sold out until the end of May 2017, but the new announcement of 250,000 further tickets means that the shows run at the Palace Theater in London has now been extended until December 2017!
250,000 further tickets for the to be released next week. More info here:
— Harry Potter Play (@HPPlayLDN)
The tickets are available for purchase from 11am BST for British Muggles, or 6am EST if you’re a US No-Maj, and prices will start from £15 (approx. $20 USD) per part — the play has two parts which can be seen either in the same day or on consecutive days — with 300 tickets per performance bring priced at under £20 (approx. $26 USD).
And for those of you in any doubt over whether or not the play is worth it, . The Guardian awarded it four stars, saying it was “a dazzling duel of dark and light,” and Entertainment Weekly said it was “as spectacular as it is ambitious,” meanwhile Variety called the Cursed Child “quite simply, spellbinding.”
However if you’re unable to get your hands on the tickets (or perhaps unable to afford tickets and the airfare to London to see the play), fear not because in order to celebrate Harry’s 36th birthday! And, if J.K. Rowling is to be believed, eventually the play may even tour, meaning a Broadway engagement will definitely be on the cards, if not first priority.
If demand is there – remember, it’s still at preview stage! – it will run for a long time AND tour – you’ll see it!

I get the feeling Rowling might know more than she’s letting on!
But, if the play version of Harry Potter simply doesn’t take your fancy, let’s not forget that we have a whole new trilogy of movies set in the same universe (albeit 70 years earlier)
