5 Unknown DC Characters That Could Be Our New Vigilante In ‘Arrow’ Season 5

Arrow show runner and stated that a new vigilante will be making his way to Star City in season 5. It seems the Arrow staff wants to take a page out of Marvel’s Daredevil and bring a Punisher type of character to ramp up the stakes for Green Arrow.

The only description of the character we have gotten so far is that he is “a cocksure/reckless ex-Marine turned vigilante.”

That is not a lot to go on, but I have done some digging through the DC database and found 5 possible characters that could fit that description. While most people may read the ex-marine aspect of that description and automatically assume that it could be John Stewart. I do not think John Stweart fits that anti-hero type of description, plus he is too big of a name for me. I am looking for characters that are a little more unknown.

Sorry John!

Sorry John!

Arrow seems to be on a trend of taking lesser known characters and either re-imagining them, or revamping them. So some of these characters may be out of your comic book depth, but keep and open mind.

Here we go:

5. Captain X

Richard Dare was an aviator for the U.S. Military and his actually the Grandfather of Ronnie Raymond. Having a relative of Ronnie could add for an interesting storyline, especially if he ever crossed paths with Caitlin Snow. Dare is skilled in hand to hand combat and if you tone down his colorful costume, he could turn into a cool new DC Character.

4. Gunhawk

Liam Hawkleigh was a U.S. Army Sniper who came home to become a mercenary. He is arrogant and reckless, he would be a good fit for the description given. This character is a skilled marksman and fighter, he could the new Deadshot for the show.

3. Hotshot

Jonathan Banks was in the U.S. Navy and possesses a suit given to him by Amanda Waller that allows him the ability to fly. In the comics he always had two Kryptonite blades that he used to take on Superman. Turn them into regular blades and this character would be a good fit for Arrow with the Amanda Waller connection.
