It’s shockingly un-shocking, I know, but Rob Zombie’s new horror film, 31, is reeeeeeal gory. In fact, as of now, he can’t seem to get anything for the film. Today’s release of the first trailer gives a not so subtle look at the carnage that awaits those daring enough (and with strong enough stomachs) to watch Zombie’s films.
31 is about five carnival employees in 1975 who, on the night before Halloween, are abducted and held hostage by a group of murderous . They unwittingly become involved in a 12-hour game called “31.” Featured in the trailer is a lot of smudged clown make-up, powdered-wig wearing weirdos, and of course blood, lots of blood.
The film was crowdfunded and releases on VOD September 16 with a theatrical release October 21st, in time for anyone seeking gruesome thrills for Halloween.
are Rob Zombie favorites including his wife Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween), Meg Foster (The Lords of Salem), Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Lords of Salem) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange). While it may be more of the same from Rob Zombie, he clearly has a niche audience looking forward to seeing what new extremes he’ll go to. If that’s your thing, I’m sure you’re grinning like a clown today.
Is Rob Zombie-level gore your thing?
