It has not be a good week for Marvel in the matters of the smaller screen. ABC recently released a list of shows that they were taking off the air and, unfortunately, Agent Carter was on that list. Agent Carter had it’s dedicated fan base that was strong enough to keep it alive for a second season but unfortunately the numbers weren’t strong enough to grant it a third one. Despite the major praise from critics and fans alike, Agent Carter finished its run with a 1.4 rating among adults under 50 and 4.3 million total viewers with DVR, which is very opposite to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
On more sad news, the upcoming Marvel series Marvel’s Most Wanted has been scrapped and is being abandoned by ABC. Marvel fought hard to get the show off the ground but the pilot show was rejected recently and there are no plans for the future of the show. Marvel’s Most Wanted would have starred Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, reprising their roles of Bobbie Morse and Lance Hunter who departed from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D earlier this year. Delroy Lindo, Oded Fehr and Fernana Andrade were also set to co-star along with Palicki and Blood in the drama.
Hopefully this will not affect the growing success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D or the Netflix series but I think I speak for everyone when I say we should have a moment of silence for our fallen comrade, Agent Carter. Are you upset by the recent cancellation of Agent Carter and Marvel’s Most Wanted?
