Trailer for the biopic Bleed for This, starring Miles Teller.
Bleed for This is the incredible true story of one of the most inspiring and unlikely comebacks in sports history. Miles Teller ( ) stars as Vinny “The Pazmanian Devil” Pazienza, a local Providence boxer who shot to stardom after winning 2 world title fights. After a near-fatal car accident leaves Vinny with a severed spine, doctors tell him he may never walk again. With the help of renowned trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart), Vinny becomes a legend when he not only walks again, but miraculously returns to the ring to reclaim his title belt only a year after the accident. When watching this sport biopic, pay attention to see if Miles Teller ever is in a scene wearing a green bracelet. He has been known to wear this bracelet in every film he has done since his friend died in a car crash. The bracelet, which says “Buckle up for Bo”, has even more meaning considering that Miles Teller almost died in a car crash only a year before his friend. As audiences have now noted, the actor has the (facial) scars as evidence.
Bleed for This is sort of a return for director Ben Younger, who hasn’t directed a film for ever a decade. His last feature was , which was released back in 2005.
The Los Angeles Times listed this film in their article, ” “.
Miles Teller has always been a hit or miss for me. At times I can’t believe he is considered a leading man — he’s not exactly debonair — but then he does roles like the one in that are absolutely wowing.
Judging by the trailer for Bleed for This, I am going to immediately agree with the Los Angeles Times prediction — this film looks awesome. Throw in the fact that the story hits close to home for Teller, I can’t help but think this sport drama looks like a winner in every regard, whether it be box office gold or Oscar contention.
