Trailer for Carnage Park, starring Ashley Bell, Pat Healy, James Landry Hébert and Michael Villar.
This pure-pulp thrill ride jumps between past and present as it pieces together the puzzle of a shocking crime. It’s 1978 and a bank robbery gone wrong leaves Vivian (Bell, ) the hostage of two criminals on the run. But things go from bad to off-the-rails berserk when she and her captors wind up on the sun-baked desert outpost of a deranged ex-military sniper (Healy), who ensnares them in his deadly game of cat and mouse. Rising horror auteur Mickey Keating directs this gritty, grisly homage to the glory days of grindhouse cinema. The production behind Carnage Park was a quick one. The film began rolling in less than a week of the casting process and wrapped production in under a month. It quickly went on to have a festival run, making stops at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and .
It’s always fun to catch actors you know making small cameo appearances in films where you never thought you’d ever encounter them. In Carnage Park it was nice to spot Alan Ruck making an appearance as a sheriff and rocking an accent. The same holds true for Pat Healy. Known for an expanded filmography, he played a cameo role as “Scientist #1” in . Whatever it takes to join a Marvel movie I guess.
When watching the trailer for Carnage Park it is best to keep your speaker volume at the minimum. Boy are there a lot of ear-splitting sounds edited into this video. Hard to say if it’s a bit much, but what there is to like is the cinematography. The washed out colors create a nice effect, almost like an aged photo from the Old West. The effect should also allow for a bit more gore without (overly) disgusting the viewer.
The cast looks on point and everybody, especially Pat Healy, seem to be having fun with their roles. While this film isn’t my cup of tea, fans of this sort of thriller might see enough here to make a departure to theaters.
My only remaining question is where exactly does this take place in California? San Bernardino? Apple Valley? Chino?
Just kidding Chino. Trailer Addict has setup TA, Trailers Anonymous. Feel free to contact us at with your scoops, comments or advertising inquiries.
