There’s another reboot coming, and this time it’s the iconic gangster movie Ocean’s Eleven that’s getting a fresh revamp. Although the 2001 heist led by George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon is one of the most iconic hold-up movies out there, of the upcoming project led by Hunger Games director Gary Ross had barely made headlines.

But now that the cast, already led by , is rumored to see Cate Blanchett joining, the Soderbergh-approved reboot is definitely getting exciting. Other contenders to the female criminal gang include Jennifer Lawrence, although she might face a scheduling conflict.

Blanchett, who recently starred alongside Rooney Mara in Carol, is arguably one of the finest actresses of her generation, and it’s not hard to picture her lending her classy badassery to a meticulously planned robbery.

While the rumors that she could play the sidekick to Sandra Bullock’s leading character have yet to result in an official deal, their roles would only slightly be inspired by the original movie — which thankfully means they won’t just be female versions of George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s characters. The project is reportedly dubbed “Ocean’s Ocho,” suggesting we’ll see eight actresses joining forces. One of them could be Jennifer Lawrence, who has worked with Ross on and was rumored to be joining the project, though her conflicting schedules may result otherwise.

The film is meant to be starting to shoot at the end of the fall, not long after the release of Ross’s latest picture, Free State of Jones, on June 24. It’s Ross himself who submitted the idea to Steven Soderbergh, the director behind the original franchise.
