Daisy Johnson becoming the ? It might sound like an illogical and rather absurd — totally ridiculous — idea, but it’s unquestionably possible. This is why:
Daisy’s State Of Mind
While it’s that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting the All-New, All-Different Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, his presence within the MCU confirms the existence of the intricate world of demonic spirits. Definitely, a story of a Ghost Rider wouldn’t start and hit a sudden stop with only Robbie Reyes and his uncle Eli Morrow, because there is simply so much more that can be explored, an array of endless possibilities. Practically, anyone that carries the pain and ordeal of their struggles can become possessed by the spirit of the Ghost Rider, since that’s typically the type of people Zarathos and other demonic spirits like to merge with. Daisy is one right now that is (metaphorically speaking) walking on a thread of rope, balancing her emotions to avoid falling into the fiery pit of despair.
The Birth Of A New Character
Just imagining the result gives you chills through your spine. There’s never been an already-powered individual in the Marvel Universe that has accessed the hellish transcendence of Zarathos, or experienced the fiery possession of the Spirit of Vengeance. Taking Daisy, an Inhuman, and inserting the powers of the Ghost Rider into her soul would not only set in motion a story that’s never been told before, but would give rise to a character that would birth from the screens of television. This would be more than a Harley Quinn, a beloved DC Comics character that was born on TV. The Daisy Johnson character fused with the dynamic of the Rider, if done right, could be the definitive push that could ultimately define this generation of Marvel fans, and Chloe Bennet totally has the talent and strength of character to make it happen.
The Ghost Quake Theory
Daisy right now is in a dark place. After experiencing Lincoln’s sacrifice, she now has to live with the reality that that was supposed to be her. On top of that, her urge to crawl back into the control of Hive has damaged her emotionally, especially since Lincoln was the only one who truly understood her addiction and pain. Chloe Bennet explained this in a recent talk with :
“There must be a moment coming up in the next season where she reveals that [Her urge for Hive]. I think she feels like she can’t get close to people because wherever she goes, death follows. That hit home with her, especially this time.”
Daisy’s internal war with herself has reached a maximum high and unless she lets go of Lincoln’s farewell, it won’t end well for her. Potentially, what if we are interpreting the fiery Twitter posts wrong? If we are eventually going to see Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then Daisy is a perfect candidate for the role, at least for an episode or two. She could become the amalgamation of three seasons, phasing from the light into the dark, the end result that started with a fiery explosion on the first episode of Season 1. This won’t be the first time . In the comics, Alejandra Jones became the first female Ghost Rider when she was chosen to become the Rider by Adam, the first sinner. Jones’ story takes a more mythological turn, as it brings us closer to the realm of Mephisto, Heaven and other spiritual otherworldly concepts.
Daisy as the Ghost Rider, or rather the Ghost Quake, could be created by the decimation of Eli Morrow, Robbie Reyes’s Ghost Rider spirit and dead uncle. Part of Robbie Reyes’s Ghost Rider spirit could “infect” Daisy in the process of removing it from Reyes. Hence, Daisy wouldn’t completely embody the spirit of the Ghost Rider. With her Inhuman abilities it would make for one interesting combination. In All-New, All-Different Marvel, we’ve seeing how Reyes sometimes is eager to remove the spirit from within, when Eli tries to take over his body completely. In the event that Reyes is able to subdue and maybe remove the spirit (like when Johnny Blaze delivered his Penance Stare to him) the aftermath could make Eli inhabit the body of someone in close quarters. Alternatively, if not via the means of Eli Marrow’s spirit, then by the intervention of any of the Spirits of Vengeance is another plausible way that Daisy could become a new interpretation of the Ghost Rider. Will she go as far as making a deal with Mephisto to bring Lincoln back from dead? Depends on how much she really loved him and how much she is willing to do to bring him back.
It might sound too far of a stretch and rather unlikely, but it’s not impossible. Daisy’s state of mind after Season 3 is distressful, and her decisions afterwards could undoubtedly put her towards a dark path, a path that could lead her to become possessed by the spirit of the Ghost Rider.
