‘When you strip a man of all he has. All that’s important to him. You force him to return to his roots… and sometimes that’s a very dangerous and twisted place.’
From Rampage, Moana and Shazam! via two reboots, Baywatch and , and news of a , it feels like it won’t be long before we can all smell what Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is cooking: Total Hollywood domination. And, once you get a load of the bonkers, fit-to-burst biceps he’s being building in preparation for Fast 8, you’ll think twice about standing in his way.
Taking to Instagram — where Johnson drops the majority of his — he posted a black and white portrait shot of the all new Hobbs, his F&F character, featuring not only his massive arms but a pretty metal leather waistcoat and, interestingly, a huge, upside down unicorn-esque goatee.
Check it out:
Obviously, no complaints about any aesthetic changes here, I’m merely acknowledging a departure from the Hobbs we’ve known in the past:
Johnson captioned the post with a huge teaser regarding a potential F&F spin-off, and his plans to “disrupt the franchise.”
If I was going to return for another FAST & FURIOUS I wanted to come in and disrupt the franchise in a cool way that got fans fired up and their blood pumping to see a new version of Hobbs and his “Daddy’s gotta go to work” mentality and set the table in a cool way for where the character goes in the future.
Maybe it’s a spinoff movie. Maybe it’s more #FF movies. Or hell maybe Hobbs just gets on his motorcycle and rides off into the sunset never to be seen again.
Never to be seen again? Somehow I doubt that very much.
