Donald’s successful online campaign for the role in Amazing Spider-Man actually seems to have inspired the creation of the first half African-American, half Hispanic Spider-Man, following the death of Peter Parker in Ultimate Spider-Man. His name is Miles Morales, and Brian Michael Bendis, the writer behind Ultimate Spider-Man, took no time in crediting Donald Glover for inspiring the character’s creation.

He told that he saws the Community clip of Donald in the PJ’s, and loved it: “I saw him in the costume and thought, ‘I would like to read that book.’ So I was glad I was writing that book.”
