Lupita Nyong’o Moves From ‘Star Wars’ To Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Lupita Nyong’o is jumping from one huge franchise to another. THR is reporting that the actress is in talks to join Creed director Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther movie for Marvel Studios, co-starring with Chadwick Boseman, who plays the titular hero. Nyong’o would be playing the love interest of T’Challa/Black Panther, though it’s unknown at this time who the character would be. In the comics, Black Panther has had a long-running on again/off again relationship and marriage to Ororo Munroe, better known as the X-Men’s Storm. The pair even had a child together.
As we know, Storm doesn’t fall under Marvel Studios’ purview, as she is an X-Men character and thus the movie rights belong to Fox. It’s more likely that Nyong’o will be playing an original character.
