Make (Captain) America Great Again: This New Marvel Supervillian Looks A Whole Lot Like Donald Trump

No US politician has ever been more polarizing than Republican presidential nominee and property tycoon Donald J. Trump. While everyone has their own opinions about Mr. Trump, Marvel Comics may have taken it one step further, by introducing a new supervillian in the recently released Spider-Gwen Annual #1, which has an uncanny likeness to the man himself.

The story goes as follows: takes place in an alternate universe (Earth-65 to be exact) where Peter Parker’s old love interest Gwen Stacy is bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter. In Spider-Gwen Annual #1, we meet Samantha Wilson, the black, female Captain America of Earth-65. At the end of the comic, we get out first look at M.O.D.A.A.K (a.k.a. Mental Organism Designed As America’s King). M.O.D.A.A.K has quite a likeness to Mr. Trump as well as a dislike for “foreign filth” and an insecurity about his tiny hands.

M.O.D.A.A.K is an obvious reimagining of M.O.D.O.K (a.k.a. Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing), a recurring foe for Steve Rogers’s Captain America who is basically a huge floating head with tiny arms and legs.

In the comic, M.O.D.A.A.K is eventually defeated with a sucker-punch to the (giant) face by Earth-65 Cap.

It’s good to point out that as much as we like to think so, politics is never a simple case of good vs. evil. It’s one big grey area of moral ambiguity, money and broken promises, but maybe that’s just the pessimist in me.

Whether M.O.D.A.A.K will appear in future issues of Spider-Gwen is unclear, but what is clear is that Marvel are not taking themselves seriously — especially as Trump wasn’t the only recognizable figure to appear in Spider-Gwen Annual #1…

Neither the Trump camp nor Marvel have commented on the likeness, but it’s impossible to imagine M.O.D.A.A.K’s inspiration came from anywhere else! And If you would like to buy your own copy of Spider-Gwen Annual #1, you can find it .

Who would you love to see given the comic book treatment?
