Marvel Characters with Lantern Rings

Like Thor’s hammer in Marvel, not just anyone can use the power of a Lantern ring. Each ring is a different color of the rainbow and each color represents a different emotion. Red (rage), Orange (Avarice or greed), Yellow (Fear), Green (willpower), Blue (hope), Indigo (compassion), and Violet (love). I figured why not take a look into the Marvel Universe and see which characters would best fit in each corps.

The Green Lantern Corps is easily the most popular of all the lantern corps so it’s the logical place to start. The Green Lantern Ring works on willpower. Only someone with strong willpower and determination can be worthy of the Green Lantern Ring
Magneto

If there is ever a person who lives, leads, and wins off of will it’s Magneto. Magneto has survived a Jewish concentration camp, lead a team of low powered mutants to the top of their game with nothing but inspiration, and even when the chips are stacked against him, Magneto finds a way to keep fighting. More recently, Magneto’s powers have taken a toll on his body, but he still manages to keep fighting and keep going because he knows he has to be the one to inspire.Honorable Mention: Cyclops and Ben Grimm

The Yellow Lantern ring is based off of fear. Not in the fear inside of the weiler of the ring, but the fear others have inside of themselves. The more people around them are scared, the more powerful they become.
Frank Castle

There is no better candidate for this ring than Frank Castle. Never running out of ammunition, having a protective shield, and also being powered by hundreds of criminals pooping their pants at the sight of him would definitely give The Punisher the ability to eliminate crime in his lifetime. Since everyone would be to scared to commit a crime, all that fear would continue to make Castle stronger.Honorable Mentions: Dr. Doom and Thanos

Just like hope is hard to define, it is also the hardest ring to wield. Not only must you have a grand understanding of hope, you must be around a Green Lantern to weild that power. This pick will shock those of you who don’t understand the character fully.
Deadpool

Despite all of Deadpool’s self deprication, he always does the right thing in hope that he is making the world a better place. Deadpool is willing to give up his life and his own happiness for this hope. While people like Professor Xavier and Cyclops may believe in hope, they are willing to sacrifice their teammates, Deadpool is not. Best moment to check out or google is the “Squirrels and Coconuts speech” Deadpool made.Honorable mention: NIghtcrawler and Steve Rogers

Their oath is pretty much "MINE!"

Their oath is pretty much “MINE!”

I don’t know much about the Orange Lantern Corps, so I did a little searching around the web and I found a quote. Apparently, “The orange light of avarice will be discovered and manipulated by a being whose greed knows no bounds”. So who is the one person who wants it all? Who the greediest person in the Marvel Universe?
Wilson Fisk

Wilson Fisk wants it all. Money, power, respect, to be feared, to be loved, and to have it all at once. Lex Luthor once held the power of the Orange Lantern Ring and the only difference between the two of them is the amount of money and intelligence. Fisk could have all the money in the world and would start a space program to obtain all of the riches of the universe. I’d debate that no one is as greedy as he is. Honorable Mention: The Hood and Emma Frost

“The battery stands before a great lake of blood from which he forms his red power ring (crystallized by his anger), as well as other rings and batteries used to form the Red Lantern Corps”. Thanks, Wikipedia. Violent and uncontrollable anger. Only the angriest of the angry can wield this power. And we all know the one person who has that much anger inside of them. The Hulk

You had to have seen this coming. He is literally a rage monster. The madder he gets the stronger he gets and a ring fueled off of the Hulk’s rage would make the Hulk invincible. Even if he switched back to being Banner, that rage would still be there. So I guess the question is whether Bruce Banner or The Hulk would be more dangerous wielding that power. Honorable Mentions: Namor and J. Jonah Jameson

Compassion is feeling sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. While looking at them they seem like hippies…well, they kinda are. I’d say you’d have to be a special kind of person to wield this power, but it seems all you have to do is be cleansed of evil and you can use the Indigo Ring. I still can’t decide if they’re good or evil despite their emotional power.
Storm

There isn’t a character that represents compassion more than Ororo Monroe. She tries her best to see the good in everyone. Also, despite all of her power, she doesn’t kill or make those weaker than her feel like less than they are. Even in the face of evil, she won’t fall to her basic wants. Honorable Mentions: Rahne Sinclair and Jean Grey

Girl power!!!!

Girl power!!!!

It’s been said over and over again that the love of power conquers all and while it may not be the most powerful ring, who knows how strong it could be with someone with enough love inside of her. I say her because this corps is an all female squad.Sue Storm:

Two kids, an annoying brother, a husband who hardly listens, and a friend who’s extremely insecure and they’re all living under one roof. Sue has to be loving to deal with all of those personalities. BUT if you mess with anyone she loves, she will attack and it won’t be pleasant. Next to the Punisher, I don’t think anyone on this list could use a ring as good as her.
