Michael B. Jordan Is ‘Super Excited’ To Join ‘Black Panther,’ Teases Details About His Role

After he was confirmed to appear in Black Panther in an as-yet unnamed role, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Michael B. Jordan yesterday. Still tight lipped on the nature of the role itself, Jordan nonetheless dropped some interesting hints about the film while talking about his excitement to be added to Black Panther‘s roster.

We still have a while to wait until Black Panther is released — the movie will premiere in early 2018 — but has fans pumped for T’Challa’s solo film.

With Lupita Nyong’o cast too, we can’t wait to find out exactly . Who Jordan will play is a hot topic among fans, as he might be Black Panther‘s main antagonist. Unfortunately, details about this role are still scarce, but Jordan hinted that we might see something we didn’t expect.

“I’m super excited, especially to put a different spin on it. I’m looking forward to working with Ryan [Coogler] once again.”

A different spin, eh? When it comes to adapting comic book characters, it’s certainly important to keep things fresh. The MCU is no stranger to this and the new version of Zemo in Civil War certainly .

As for the role itself, there are many to choose from. , but it’s likely that Jordan’s role is being kept totally secret from the press.

We’re hoping that Jordan will be playing White Wolf — this antagonist is actually T’Challa’s estranged brother, which would make for an interesting plot for the solo film. Family could be a strong theme for Black Panther, , T’Challa’s sister.

, and it seems as though the story could be very character driven. Plot hints aside, Jordan also commented that he’s looking forward to working with Nyong’o and Boseman on the film, which he thinks will be a “good time.” It looks like he’s just as excited as we are, and that definitely bodes well for the film!
