It was never just a game. Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, Ouija: Origin of Evil tells a terrifying new tale as the follow-up to 2014’s sleeper hit that opened at number one. In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side. With a budget of $5 Million, the first movie made over $103 million worldwide (over 30 times the budget)!
Ouija: Origin of Evil is a prequel to the 2014 film Ouija, and will feature an entirely different cast from that of the first film.
Principal photography on the film began on September 9, 2015 and ended on October 21, 2015. Here we go again, another horror film sequel trying to cash in the success of the first film. But wait, can this one break the mold and be better than the first?
Ouija: Origin of Evil has a couple things going for itself. First is the Director, Mike Flanagan, who brought us and , which are two of the better horror films in recent years. And then being that this film is a prequel, we get a great period feel to film based on this trailer. I think that a level of creepy especially when they play Herman’s Hermits “I’m Into Something Good”.
And then there is the best part I got from this trailer, actress Lulu Wilson seems to mail the possessed child perfectly as Doris Zander. It has got be really tough to find a young actor who can pull of horror like she does without it looking cheesy.
