Sebastian Stan Teases Fans Where The Winter Soldier Might Next Appear In The MCU

In the aftermath of and , the popularity of Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. The Winter Soldier, has rocketed to new heights. Obviously, fans want to know when that will translate to seeing him on screen again.

Over the weekend, Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan appeared at a Wizard World Philadelphia panel with fellow Marvel cast members Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie. Stan teased the audience with when and where his next appearance might happen when a member of the audience asked him when we’d see his character again – but not before Evans reminded him to not give too much away. While Stan didn’t really confirm anything, he did drop a few hints as to when that might be:

“I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe say it, now. Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in.”

We know where he landed at the end of Civil War

The “very clear answer” is obviously , as it was revealed in the mid-credits scene that Bucky ended up in Wakanda under the care of T’Challa, because, y’know, it would be super great if we could get him unbrainwashed so he isn’t constantly going full murderbot every time he hears, “Longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak…” And we know that Marvel’s credits scenes generally tend to hint at what’s to come in future movies.

But it’s also worth noting that Stan gave something of a non-answer, as Marvel cast are well-trained to never let anything slip. They are masters of evasion when it comes to not giving away exact details that haven’t been officially confirmed by the studio, so who knows if this is Stan saying there are plans for him to be in Black Panther or if it would just make sense that it would be that movie if he were to appear in another MCU film prior to .

In any case, whether it’s in Black Panther or Infinity War, let’s just hope that by the next time we see Bucky Barnes, his brain is less easily hacked by evil terrorist organizations.
