Suicide Squad arrives in exactly one month and eight days (not that anyone’s counting). And with such a short time until one of the most anticipated movies of 2016 gets released, comes the heavier marketing approach in order to get audiences familiar with the new characters and storyline about to be presented to them.
One of the most important things that comes as the release date approaches, is the movie’s runtime. A few days ago, director David Ayer announced through his Twitter account that Suicide Squad was officially finished:
Squad is completed! Finished final mix and coloring. Now it’s off to the lab and then the world. Nothing like it out there. It.Is.a.Beast.

This was after false reports came that the movie clocked in at 1 hour and 40 minutes, which left us wondering how long would the film about “the worst of the worst” take to tell its story. Now, thanks to Collider.com, it seems we have an answer. The site shared that their sources confirmed Suicide Squad‘s runtime to be:
130 MINUTES – 2 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES (INCLUDING CREDITS)
This puts the movie about the guys who are in a hole that was… thrown away… considerably behind of 2013’s Man of Steel, which clocks in at 143 minutes and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, at 151 minutes. While lasting more than two hours is a common practice for comic book/superhero films, it’s exciting to know Suicide Squad will have a considerable amount of time to hopefully flesh out its quirky characters and story in a comprehensible and entertaining manner.
Let’s just keep in mind that the runtime is 130 minutes with credits. By taking the credits out, the film could very well be exactly 2 hours long. That is, of course, more than enough to deliver an amazing film that we will all remember as the years go by.
The Suicide Squad’s thrown-out hole will be found on August 5, 2016.
ARE YOU HAPPY WITH SUICIDE SQUAD‘S LENGTH? WOULD YOU HAVE PREFERRED IT TO BE SHORTER OR LONGER?
I´m an avid movie fan whose favorite movie ever is Back to the Future. I´m the type of person that if I like a TV show, I´ll binge watch it, no matter how long or how hard the ride is. I love super heroes, in fact, I pride myself of being a comic book fan since long, long before the super hero movie craze got going.
