, Sony Pictures, director Paul Feig and the rest of the team have just released a whole bunch of brand new featurettes to get us excited about the films opening on July 15
The release of the videos was also a part of yesterday’s
Take a look at the five featurette videos below on our new leading characters, and one old favorite:
Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones)
While the other leading ladies in the film are scientists and engineers, Patty is the one who lends a little common sense and practical know-how to the team. From her encounter with the supernatural, to her knowledge of both New York’s geography and history, Patty looks like one hell of an asset to the Ghostbusters crew.
Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy)
Abby Yates may be a scientist but her dedication to the field of paranormal investigation hasn’t exactly bought her any respect. However, when the paranormal shit (Ectoplasm?) hits the fan it looks Abby’s day has finally arrived.
Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig)
After becoming a professor at Columbia University, Erin Gilbert’s past comes back to bite her after Abby publishes a book on the paranormal that the pair had worked on years ago without her permission. With her reputation and chance at tenure in jeopardy, Erin visits Abby to have book pulled, but instead has her world rocked when she experiences the paranormal for herself.
Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon)
Engineering genius Jillian Holtzmann is the one arming our Ghostbusters with all their awesome tech. In a world fighting against the paranormal you’d better hope you have a brilliant mind on your team, and while Holtzmann seems a little off-kilter she seems the perfect addition to this eclectic team of ladies.
There’s (not to mention ), but there’s one grand old dame who will be more than familiar to audiences: . In the upcoming Ghostbusters, the new version of Ecto-1 seems to have been borrowed by the group from Patty’s uncle. However after Holtzmann gets her hands on the hearse it undergoes one hell of a transformation!
Ghostbusters will be released in cinemas on July 15
