The still has a long way to go if it wants to catch up to the mighty Marvel Cinematic Universe. With 13 movies and counting the MCU is officially owning the superhero genre, but there is a way DC can change that.
After the critical response to Batman v Superman, we can expect a major change in the way DC Comics movies are presented. But I’m going to take one step further and discuss the one way I believe the DCEU can get ahead of the MCU.
The DC Extended Universe is already separating itself from the MCU by focusing on a different kind of character. In just two months David Ayer’s Suicide Squad will land in theatres and is set to show a different side to the DCEU. It’s also worth noting that for the first time DC Comics characters like , Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash are getting big screen adaptations, meaning Warner Bros. and DC are stepping away from just solo Batman and Superman movies.
Unlike Marvel Studio’s, Warner Bros. and DC Comics have the right to their entire collection of heroes, meaning we could pretty much see appearances from any character in the DCEU. This opens the door for lesser-known characters like Swamp Thing and Booster Gold to get in on the action.
DC Comics also have a great collection of villains, and we already know that Harley Quinn is getting her own movie, so we might even see some of the bad guys get solo movies in the DCEU.
That’s How I Think The DCEU Can Get Ahead Of The MCU. Agree?
The ultimate Superman fan. I love comic book movies so why not spend every waking hour talking about them.
