Two New Character From ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Have Been Revealed!

As with every season of , in the upcoming Season 7 we should expect to meet some brand new characters. With the world rapidly expanding in the Walking Dead universe (first Alexandria, then Hilltop and the Saviors, and now ) we will undoubtedly encounter characters taken straight from the comic book, , as well as entirely new ones. And according to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello we might already have a couple of names and descriptions for two of these new totally new characters!

Ausiello revealed that it looks like we’ll meet two new female characters in Season 7 named Naomi and Jennie. Firstly he described Naomi as “a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more. (Maybe she’s being introduced to counsel Carol about the awful necessities of the post-apocalyptic world… ).” He then went on to describe Jennie as “a sunny-side-up kinda teenager — oh, Caaarl! — who sounds a lot like Beth 2.0, ‘kind, with a world-weary toughness.'”

These characters have been assumed to be newly created characters for the show as they don’t particularly sound like any comic book character. However I do think that aspects of Naomi sound a little like . Even though her son, Johnny is still alive in the comics, Brianna did lose all of her other family members. But then again Brianna is in her mid-30s, so not exactly “grandmotherly.”

It makes the most sense to assume that these two characters are members of the new community, the Kingdom, which was hinted at in Episodes 15 and 16 of Season 6, when Carol and Morgan met the mystery armored men at the abandoned farm. The kingdom is a community bigger than Alexandria, so has plenty of potential for new characters to be introduced. There is also the possibility that both or one of them may come from Hilltop as we didn’t spend much time meeting all of the characters living there in Season 6.

But regardless of where these characters come from, it will interesting to see their introduction on the show and how they fit in this tough new world. While we probably have to wait until October to meet these characters fully, there is a possibility they might show up in Fingers crossed!

The Walking Dead returns to AMC with Season 7 in October.
