Trailer for War on Everyone that was released to international markets.
Two corrupt cops in New Mexico set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path. Things take a sinister turn, however, when they try to intimidate someone who is more dangerous than they are. Or is he?The dark buddy cop comedy should be a big hit for Icon considering the feedback from the film’s premiere at the . War on Everyone currently has a score of 72% on , which is not exactly Certified Fresh but still solid considering the genre and darker tone.
Vanity Fair gave the film some strong acclaim with, “The opening sequences of War on Everyone are so furiously fast and funny it’s nearly unimaginable that McDonagh can sustain the pace. And yet he does.”
And they are not alone. Variety backs up that point of view by explaining, “McDonagh writes his clever, coal-black heart out, delivering another firecracker script, whose explosively entertaining execution boasts considerably more commercial potential than his previous two indies.”
While we prefer more, trailers released to international markets are always a close second. Why? Well, it’s because international markets aren’t as Quaker as the United States and therefore have no issue showing R-rated content. So practically like a red band, but these previews don’t typically try as hard to be Rated-R like a red band does.
That being said, the international trailer for War on Everyone is awesome. We have been told that the story runs at high energy, and therefore so does its trailers. Since the song “Ante Up” did so well in the red band version, it makes sense that Icon would have no issue using the track again here.
