Pull up your calendar. Scroll to March. No, not March 2017. I’m talking about March 2019. Yes, we’re going that far into the future, because Warner Bros. has pushed back Godzilla 2 to March 22, 2019 and Godzilla vs. Kong for May 29, 2020. The plus side? You probably don’t have any events planned for those dates as it’s super far into the future.
Legendary and Warner Bros’ 2014 Godzilla grossed $529 million worldwide. Director Gareth Edwards returns for Godzilla 2, which used to have a set date for June 8, 2018.
Kong: Skull Island is scheduled for March 10th of next year. It stars actors Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins, and Jason Mitchell and takes place in king of the ape’s mysterious island.
King Kong first debuted in 1933. The first Godzilla first hit theaters in 1954 and has generated 28 movies.
