(Warning: The following contains potential SPOILERS for Arrow Season 5, albeit ones straight from the mouths of those involved in making it. Proceed with whatever level of caution that suggests to you is wise…)
Now, – and October 5 sure does feel a long way away at this point – then it’s pretty darned fortunate the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 just played host to a whole lot of revelations about what we can expect to see in season five of the fan-favorite show. Something that, as it happens, means that…
We Now Know A Whole Lot More About Arrow Season 5
Including intriguing details like… well, before we get to that, how about a sneaky glimpse of what’s coming up in season 6?
Which is actually probably more viscerally exciting than the panel’s other revelations, but, y’know, even so. After all, there’s always the fact that…
Katie Cassidy WILL Return As Laurel Lance
It’s not yet been revealed exactly what form that return will take, but it sounds as though Cassidy has been signed up for one of those ‘multi-series’ deals that Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman are now on. Either way, though, Laurel will be back, in some form or another.
The New ‘Big Bad’ Is Called Prometheus
It’s not the Prometheus from the comics, though, but rather an Arrow-opposing archer/swordsman, who looks set to seriously shake things up (you can check him out at the very end of the video above) – , don’t expect him to be too far from the action either.
It Sounds Like Oliver Is Going To Be A Terrible Mayor
Or, at least, it seems he will be at the season’s start. As Amell put it:
“What a garbage mayor he is… And he’s terrible because he’s alone. There’s no team.”
A New Team Is Set To Emerge
With Echo Kellum’s Mr. Terrific set to be joined by Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog and Madison McLaughlin as Evelyn Sharp – all three of whom can be seen taking on Green Arrow in the video above. What’s more, from the sounds of it, Oliver and Felicity – while very much just friends as the season begins – will be running the new team as equals.
This Is Going To Be The Final Season We’ll See Flashbacks
With Arrow apparently having originally been conceived of as a five season story, a sixth season of the show would apparently jettison the device, and focus its attention on the present day. Probably best to enjoy young Oliver’s adventures in Russia in season five while they last, then…
The big question now, though?
What do YOU reckon?
