Will ‘Batman V Superman’s’ Lex Luthor Appear In Suicide Squad?

A new cut of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released later this month on digital platforms, adding roughly thirty minutes of deleted and extended scenes that reportedly clarify lined throughout the theatrical release.

If successful, the ‘Ultimate Cut’ could even change your opinion on , but what’s most exciting about Snyder’s extended version of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is that it’s also shed some light on other DCEU movies, including Suicide Squad.

In the original cut, Batman visits Lex Luthor’s prison cell, threatening him with his bat-iron thing, which then prompts the maniacal villain to rant about a threat from space that only made sense to comic book fans (Hint, it’s Darkseid).

Pretty confusing, right?

Well, the Ultimate Cut attempts to clear things up by drawing out the conversation between them both, revealing that Lex knows Batman’s secret identity. There’s only one problem;

“…who would believe me?” Luthor asks. “I’m insane. Not even fit to stand trial.”

That hair alone puts your sanity in question

Batman misleadingly suggest that;

“We have hospitals that treat the mentally ill with compassion… But that’s not where you’re going.”

Could it be?

“I’ve arranged to have you transferred to Arkham Asylum in Gotham. I still have some friends there. And they’re expecting you.”

There it is. Confirmation that the are in fact true.

Well, there’s still some room for doubt, but whether a potential cameo from Lex was or was on the cards from day one, an appearance in Suicide Squad now seems far more likely.

It would be easy to point out that the Suicide Squad team members are , not Arkham, but Harley Quinn’s entire backstory revolves around her time at the Asylum, making it far more feasible that the two villains could meet at some stage.

Hopefully for a spot of gymnastics

The footage we’ve seen so far also shows that the entire team are transported between locations in the film, so there’s a strong chance that Arkham Asylum could feature at this point too, bringing Lex Luthor together with the likes of Deadshot, Killer Croc and perhaps even the Joker, uniting two of DC’s biggest villains together on screen for the first time.

We won’t know more until hits theaters on August 5, but if Jesse Eisenberg really is involved, there’s a strong chance that his cameo could lead directly into the villain’s confirmed appearance in Justice League.

Or they could just follow the guidelines set by this hilarious video that explains how Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice should have really ended.

What do you think Lex Luthor’s role could be in Suicide Squad?

Well now you’re just agreeing with Lex!
