It’s a question that all us loyal Thrones viewers have wondered since the beginning of the series: Will Dany make it to Westeros? Each season, she makes it out alive and grows stronger episode by episode, as does her powerful dragons. However, since Dany arrived in Meereen, she has become more and more confident and without getting too cliche, she has become a ruler. proves that Dany is ready. With the support of the Unsullied, the Dothraki khalasar, Daario, Jorah, Tyrion, Missandei and her three dragons Viseryion, Rhagal and Drogon, perhaps now is the time for the Mother of Dragons to make the voyage to Westeros.
Dany first arrived in Meereen all the way back in the fourth season. As part of her mission to free the slaves of Slavers Bay, she took control of the city, punished the great masters and reigned there happily for a short while. Dany made the clever decision to remain in Meereen and get a taste of what it would be like to be a rule and ultimately what it means to be a Queen. The following season, the Sons of the Harpy attempted to execute her – the masters of Slavers Bay want to keep the slaves in their place and are opposed to liberation. After Drogon rescued her from the Harpies, Dany was kidnapped by a horde of her former people: the Dothraki. Although intimidating at first, this experience was a blessing in disguise for her. Up until this point Dany had no army and no means of getting to Westeros, essentially she was stranded in Meereen.
After obliterating her captors earlier this season, Dany acquired the army that she had been so desperately in need of – the khalasar now see her as the leader. One thing Dany always had was humility – her means of liberating the slaves may have been flawed, but she always acts with the best of intentions. This logic applies here – not only has she acquired an army but she’s liberated the Dothraki people of their chauvinist leader, as well as freeing the women of the Dosh Khaleen. The Dothraki people are now one hundred percent devoted to her, . Now that Dany has her army she will return to Meereen, where Tyrion and Varys have been ruling over the city.
Dany has a lot in her corner at the minute. As we see Jon struggle to compile an army to take on Ramsay, Dany has not only the Dothraki but the Unsullied. The dragons are also an advantage that none of the others have, thus putting her at a greater advantage. Then of course there is the wonderfully hilarious Tyrion Lannister who is Dany’s personal advisor. With his knowledge, three powerful fire breathing dragons and a large army, I wouldn’t be suprsied if we see Dany set sail (or on dragon back?) for Westeros before or during the season finale!
