Breaking Bad fans know Bryan Cranston best for playing Walter White, a cancer-stricken chemistry teacher who sells crystal meth on the side, but the beloved actor has far more bizarre roles lined up in the future, including a , an and a goofy, yet lovable sitcom Dad?
That’s right, guys. In a world where reboots and revivals pop up faster than Walter White’s clients at a meth sale, Cranston has given us hope that a Malcolm In The Middle revival could actually be in the works.
The hit sitcom ended with it’s seventh season in 2006 and at the time, it was hard to imagine Cranston playing anything other than Hal. But now, new fans of the acclaimed actor may have to reimagine their favorite meth dealer as an awkward, yet caring father figure who does stuff like this:
When asked by E! Online about the possibility of ever seeing the show return to our screens, Cranston said:
“I sure hope so. I really do, for no other reason than that I miss those people like crazy and I stay in touch with them. The boys are doing great and Jane [Kaczmarek] is doing wonderfully and I’d love to. There’s a possibility we want to start talking about the possibility of putting together a story that makes sense about that family 10 or 12 years later.”
This isn’t the first time that talk of a Malcolm In The Middle revival has cropped up recently; , even suggesting a new approach for the show with a surprisingly perfect title.
How fun would “Malcolm In The Mid-life Crisis” be? I wonder what Malcolm and his family would be up to now!

Cranston arguably found more success once Malcolm In The Middle had ended, so the fact that he’s the one pushing for its return bodes well. As the most famous member of the cast, Cranston’s involvement would hold more clout with executives willing to put money forward, and his enduring ties with the rest of the cast are a huge bonus too.

There are some issues beyond reuniting the cast itself including timing, funding and even finding a home for the show, but if programs like Fuller House and The X-Files can make it work, why not Malcolm In The Middle?
It may take awhile, but we would bet money that Hal and Lois will return to TV one day, with their now grown-up children Francis, Reese, Malcolm, Dewey and Jamie in tow. Oh and don’t forget that we also need to find out who that baby bump turns out to be from the series finale.
If the revival’s not called Malcolm In The Mid-life Crisis, we’re going to be pissed though. Just saying.
Who’s your favorite member of the Malcolm In The Middle family?
The day someone green-lights a Marvel Zombies Ghibli film directed by Xavier Dolan is the day I will be happy. Any day now…
