Brad Pitt is certainly up there with the Hollywood movie greats, having starred in a myriad of blockbusters spanning a vast selection of genres since making his first foray into acting in the late ’80s.
And as it stands, it seems that there’s no stopping him. Here are the actor’s next three movies to look out for in the next year or so:
Release: November 23, 2016
Director: Robert Zemeckis
Role: Max Vetan
Who else is in it? Lizzy Caplan, Marion Cotillard
One of Brad Pitt’s next movies sees him back in the role of a deadly assassin. Yet this time, he doesn’t have Angelina by his side.
In Allied, the actor instead steps into the role of an intelligence officer who, while based in 1942 North Africa, falls in love with a French Resistance fighter beautifully played by Marion Cotillard. Reunited in London, the limits of their relationship are tested by the extreme pressures of the war.
2. War Machine
Director: David Michôd
Role: Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal
Who else is in it? Tilda Swinton, Anthony Michael Hall, Will Poulter
Yep, it looks like another war-based blockbuster is in the cards for Brad, and this time it’s all thanks to the millions Netflix has dropped for the rights to the movie. War Machine sees him sporting a blonde ‘do as a rock star US Army General with a lethal reputation in a satire about the Afghanistan war.
Shot on location in Berlin and London, the movie is inspired by the best-selling book by Michael Hastings called The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan
3. World War Z 2
Release: June 2, 2017
Director: David Fincher
Role: Gerry Lane
Who else is in it? Brad Pitt, Lizzy Caplan, Marion Cotillard
Following the raging successes of World War Z, it was only a matter of time before Brad Pitt would be returning in a sequel. With David Fincher probably directing, this will be the actor’s fourth film with the highly-acclaimed director following Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Considering the first installment of the zombie apocalypse horror grossed $540 million worldwide, anticipation is understandably high. Here’s the trailer for the first movie:
