‘Zoey 101’ Star Jamie Lynn Spears Found Out She Was Pregnant In A Gas Station Toilet

Though you’d assume being Britney Spears’s younger sister would be a total blessing for forging a career within Hollywood, , Jamie Lynn Spears, has revealed during a tear-filled documentary with TLC this Sunday that finding her own path in life — amid dealing with child fame and teen pregnancy —

Reflecting on childhood in Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, the now 25-year-old songstress talked of her first love with Casey Aldridge, the father of her daughter, Maddie Briann Aldrige, whom she had aged 16, and how she discovered her pregnancy in one of the least glamorous locations possible — a gas station bathroom.

After meeting Aldridge at their local church age 14, after two years of dating Spears had just returned from a spell in Los Angeles when a friend noticed she’d been throwing up and urged her to take a pregnancy test, she explains:

“I don’t know how you can say this without feeling a little tacky. I kept actually throwing up. We didn’t want to do it at home, so I went in the BP and I took a pregnancy test.”

Clearly now we all know the results of said test which at the time caused a huge freakout — “I was like, ‘What? What? What?'” — and launched Jamie Lynn into the .

“At the end of the day I knew I had to make a decision as a young girl myself to do something that I could sleep with every night. I knew deep down that I was going to have my little girl, even if I had to raise her on my own, and that’s what I did.”

“[Casey] tried to do the right thing and he asked me to marry him and we were engaged for a while, but I think I realized rushing into something that’s not right is ultimately going to be worse.”

Now hitched to Jamie Watson, Spears has thrown herself into her music and recently debuted new songs during a concert at the Grand Ole Opry. And while we’ll have to wait to see how this next phase works out for her, in the eyes of her “best friend,” daughter Maddie — she’s already succeeded:

“It’s really cool to see my mom on stage. She’s a really good singer and she’s my mom. I love my mom very much.”
